I think they need a bath.
Yesterday was a beautiful Sunday. The weather was gorgeous, and I was able to do all the things that bring joy to my life. I slept in with the hubsters, worked out, drank a pumpkin spice latte, cooked a fabulous lunch, read my book (more on that later), and met a girlfriend for dinner. Pure bliss! Yesterday you could hardly tell it was November.
Today is a different story. I woke up this morning and knew it was going to be a cold one. It is now pouring rain, I guess I'll go another day without a run outside.
Jade and I did some yoga together this morning, but since I'll be in a swimsuit in a week and I half, I thought I might need a little extra workout today. But with this weather I think I'll be doing a little more this...
And a little less this...
A day snuggled up with the pups by the fire reading my book sounds fabulous to me. I just finished Waiting for Snow in Havana. It was a really great read. It took me longer than I usually spend on a book of that size, but I blame it on our busy summer and fall. As I was reading, I jotted down a few of my favorite passages. The entire book is a memoir, and written in almost a poetic form. It forces you to examine your faith in God, country, and humanity. Enjoy!
Waiting for Snow in Havana
"Such a perfect way of thinking about those fuses; and also life. You begin at one end, and as you make your way forward, point by infinitesimal point, you give off sparks. And what you leave behind is charred, consumed, transformed. But that glorious voyage towards the end."...
"Really good things don't need words. The best thing about really good things is that you can just sit there with someone else and not say a word. And you both know. That is the sweetest of all feelings in the universe."...
"They're different, you know, tattooed people. Could liars or hypocrites ever etch anything permanently into their skin?"
